What is Pipedream?
Pipedream is a developer-friendly automation and integration platform. It lets teams build event-driven workflows that connect APIs, trigger actions across tools, and run code when native integrations do not exist. Think of it as a more powerful, more flexible alternative to Zapier — with full Node.js support, built-in versioning, and native Attio integration.
How novlini uses Pipedream
We use Pipedream for the automation scenarios that fall outside what Make or native integrations can handle. When a client needs custom logic, API chaining, or a workflow that touches proprietary data sources, Pipedream is our go-to.
Attio automation workflows
Pipedream has a native Attio app that surfaces CRM triggers and actions directly in the workflow builder. We use this to build automations that respond to Attio events — new deal created, stage changed, attribute updated — and trigger actions in external systems without writing a full integration.
Custom API integrations
For tools without native connectors, Pipedream allows us to call any REST API and chain the responses into multi-step workflows. This covers scenarios like pulling data from a proprietary database into Attio, or syncing a niche SaaS tool that has no pre-built connector.
Webhook processing
We use Pipedream as the processing layer for inbound webhooks — from forms, payment systems, product events, or third-party platforms — routing and transforming data before it lands in the CRM or downstream tools.
When Pipedream vs. Make
We default to Make for visual, no-code automations. When logic gets complex — conditional branching, API authentication flows, data transformation, or performance-sensitive workflows — Pipedream is the better choice.
